Email from Kelly Pollock re: Sidewalk to Thetis Lake Park
Resident correspondence expressing safety concerns regarding the dangerous stretch of road entering Thetis Lake Park without a sidewalk.

Good morning,
I am a resident living on Lund Road near Thetis Lake. My one year old daughter and I are hiking or playing at the beach at Thetis Lake multiple times a week and since we live so close we walk over. I am told by my neighbors that the topic of installing a sidewalk along a section of 6 mile road entering the park is being discussed and I would like to express my support for this!
I am always incredibly nervous entering the park where the sidewalk ends with my stroller as there simply is not enough room to safely walk. I have met other pedestrians or cyclists along this dangerous stretch of road and have been at times forced to step out onto the roadway to pass. This is very concerning when I am carrying my child and foot/vehicle traffic is heavy in the summer.
With the amount of foot traffic heading into the park during the summer, and with the amount of young families living in the area who use the park regularly I feel like a sidewalk would be necessary for the safety of all. Let's not wait until there is an injury or a death to address this.
Thank you,
Kelly & Jeff Pollock 2396 Lund Road
