On behalf of John Kelly VP of Finance and Administration of Beacon Community Services, here’s our application for Crossing Guards funding.

We really appreciate your help in obtaining the required approval for our request for $7,040 from 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 (3 months).

We do hope to get the funding to aid the crossing guards and ensure that we finish with a successful handover for the next school year.

Thank you for your query.

Because a grant-in-aid for Beacon Community Services has not been approved for the 2018 fiscal year (January-December 2018), I would not be able to approve payment at this point.

Further to your letter of May 25 introducing GVCGA as the new service provider, I forwarded Audrey Smith an application for a grant-in-aid, and am hoping to receive the completed form back shortly. One possibility for bridging the transition period would be for you to write a letter outlining the need and we’ll put it with the GVCGA application for Council’s consideration. Ideally, a representative from both organizations would attend the Council meeting to answer any questions they may have.

In order to meet the agenda deadline for the June 5 Council meeting, I would need your correspondence tomorrow (May 30). The next Council meeting is June 19 with the agenda deadline of June 13.

Hi Dawn,

Beacon has been providing the Crossing Guard Services since April 1st 2018 for the schools in the Town of View Royal and will continue the service until the end of the 2018-19 school year in June. These will be the last three months before the Crossing Guard Services are taken over by GVCGA.

Due to this service transition, Beacon hasn’t applied for the usual funding to cover the service cost. Would it be possible for us to send in an invoice for April 1st to June 30th?

Please advise!
