REPORT OF ELECTION RESULTS
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT the election results from the Chief Election Officer, provided pursuant to sections 148(1) and (2) of the Local Government Act, be received.
CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER’S COMMENTS:
I concur with the recommendation.
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
To provide the election results to the local government.
TIME CRITICAL:
This report must be submitted to the local government within thirty (30) days after the declaration of the official election results (declaration was made on November 23, 2011).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Sections 148(1) and (2) of the Local Government Act describe some of the final proceedings that are to occur after an election. Specifically, the Chief Election Officer must provide – within thirty (30) days after the declaration of the official election results (declaration was made on November 23, 2011) – a report of the election results to the local government. This report must also include information on the ballot accounts for the election.
Accordingly, please find attached the following completed forms from the Chief Election Officer, Ken Schaalje:
- Form 5.16 – Ballot Account for Office of Mayor Advance Voting Combined
- Form 5.16 – Ballot Account for Office of Mayor General Voting
- Form 5.16 – Ballot Account for Office of Councillor Advance Voting Combined

- Form 6.2 – Determination of Official Election Results for the Office of Mayor
- Form 6.2 – Determination of Official Election Results for the Office of Councillor

RECOMMENDATION:
THAT the election results from the Chief Election Officer, provided pursuant to sections 148(1) and (2) of the Local Government Act, be received.
