RISING REPORT
QUESTION PERIOD a) C. McLeod, 127 Aldersmith Place, inquired as to the status of Hallowell Road and its use. He also asked about which agency is responsible for approving environmental permits for the reclamation of dredged materials on the Esquimalt First Nation land and noted that dust is an issue when materials are lifted up from barges. The Director of Engineering noted that the works have been authorized by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Ministry of Environment. He noted that the fence referenced by C. McLeod is in place for sound attenuation and that the pit at the site is lined. The operators are expected to host a public open house in the near future.
