A letter from the applicants explaining the rationale behind the retaining wall construction to ensure slope stability and site safety.

In going forward to develop 237 Anya Lane a retaining wall was required to stabilize the home, provide a safe path for machinery and minimize the impact on surrounding green space. At time of construction the bank where retaining wall was extended was extremely slippery. As a result stability was required to prevent machinery from sliding into field house or wiping out trees in riparian zone.
As per approved DP # 2012/07 the access path was constructed over and existing road to minimize impact. The retaining wall was done so in the same manor, only invasive species were removed as a result of its construction. Landscaping is currently underway and we are planning to plant numerous trees, plants and shrubs which will more than make up for the impact as a result of the extended retaining wall.
