Notice regarding Unsightly Property – 551 Prince Robert Drive

Dear Mr. Denluck/ Mrs. Corbett
Please note that since the expiry of building permit # 1980 the above mentioned property is considered to be unsightly as outlined in the Town of View Royal's Property Maintenance Bylaw No. 512, 2013 ("Property Maintenance Bylaw") which states:
5.1 Unsightliness and Related Conditions in Real Property, Yards and Accessory Buildings. 5.1.1 All yards shall be kept free of all accumulation of filth, discarded materials, derelict motor vehicle bodies and associated parts, litter, trash and rubbish of any kind that is unsightly or create a health or accident hazard. 5.1.7 Fences, barriers and retaining walls and other approved enclosures shall be maintained in good repair, and free from accident hazards.
A date of 14 days from today (June15, 2016) has been extended to you rectify the issues listed below:
- –All wood material used in construction from the front and side flanking yard to be removed;
- –All misc. wood stacked in the front yard side flanking removed;
- –All misc. scrap wood from the front and side flanking yard to be removed;
- All dirt and rock and broken concrete piles to be spread or removed from property;
- –All construction equipment to be removed i.e. tractor, cement mixer, scaffolding removed from front/side flanking yard;
- –All misc. items that could be categorized as discarded materials as defined by the Property Maintenance Bylaw; and
- –rock wall in front yard repaired or removed.
A follow up inspection for compliance will be conducted on June 15, 2016; and if compliance has not yet been achieved this matter will be brought before the Town of View Royal Council at the regular scheduled meeting on June 21, 2016 for a motion that would allow the Town of View Royal or the contractor that is used by the Town of View Royal to remediate/remove/clean up at your expense the outstanding issues noted above in accordance with sections 5.6.2, 5.6.3 of the Property Maintenance Bylaw and also sections 17 and 258 of the Community Charter. Please note that if endorsed by Town of View Royal Council, work will commence within 48 hours and will continue until all outstanding issues as listed above are complete. Any costs incurred by the Town of View Royal for the remediation/removal/clean up would be invoiced back to you. Any amount unpaid as of December 31 in the year in which the work is done would be added to and form part of the taxes payable for the Property as taxes in arrears.
