Stancil Lane Parking at Welland Legacy Park
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Council refer the creation of formalized parking on Stancil Lane to the 2017 Five Year Financial Plan process;
CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER'S COMMENTS:
I concur with the recommendation.
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
To provide information on the costs to provide parking on Stancil Lane as requested by Council.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Council has received several concerns during events at the Welland Legacy Park regarding events held by Lifecycles.
Staff was asked to provide a cost estimate for the creation of several parking stalls. Approximately 8 to 10 stalls could be created at the end of Stancil Lane (attached). There are two options either to pave the parking stalls at a cost of $12,500 or to build the stalls and leave them as gravel $6,500.
BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:
Currently no funding has been allocated for the creation of parking stalls on Stancil Lane.
ALTERNATIVE RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Council receives the report and waits to see if the parking issues continue over the next several events.
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Council refer the creation of formalized parking on Stancil Lane to the 2017 Five Year Financial Plan process.
