Details of Presentation:

The Westshore Skatepark Coalition is dedicated to the creation and continued support of new Westshore based skateparks. By creating strong partnerships and embodying leadership, the Westshore Skatepark Coalition fosters and supports the growth of skatepark use in the Westshore. Culturally, skateparks are now common place around the globe. This recreational amenity supports users that are both young and old. These groups are gender neutral, ethnically diverse and social-economically varied. When adequately facilitated for, said users are able to safely recreate and develop their skills through physical/mental determination and camaraderie.

Presentation Asks:

  1. Work with council to find a location for a skate park in your community
  2. Have Council &/or municipal staff involvement in planning and development
  3. Work together in securing funds for a new skatepark. Fund development will be determined by the size of the location and park.
  4. Build individual and public awareness around skateparks and its many user groups.
