Council passed a bylaw to formally remove two properties from the Town's list of sewer grinder pump systems that the municipality is responsible for maintaining.
"The Director of Engineering explained that the Town inherited maintenance responsibility for 16 grinder pumps installed by the CRD in the 1970s/80s. Existing policy allows the Town to transfer ownership and maintenance to homeowners upon property ownership change. Two such properties allowed the reduction of Town-maintained pumps to 14, reducing the Town's operational burden. The Council received the report and subsequently passed the amendment bylaw to formalize this change."
Formal MotionPassed
"THAT the report dated October 25, 2024 from the Engineering Technologist titled "Household Sewer Grinder Pump Transfer to Owner Update" be received for information."
