Dear Mayor and Council
The View Royal Climate Coalition is concerned that while Council waits for a much anticipated tree canopy report, trees will inevitably come down to accommodate density.
Therefore we urge you to support Councillor MacKenzie’s motion under New Business, 9.1.4:
That staff identify quick changes to our tree bylaw to protect more trees, including non-protected species, specifically as part of development or building permitting.
We would also respectfully encourage you to become more involved with tree removal decisions, at least while canopy enhancement, retention and adaptation plans are not yet completed.
