Details of Item to be Added: This is notice of an item that I will raise for discussion at a future meeting. As we approach the end of the first year of this Council term, it is important that the Town consider how it can promote a greater number, and better diversity, of candidates in future elections. I recently became aware of the City of Vancouver's Women Women4Politics: A Mock Council Experience for Young Women. I would like Council to consider similar efforts, but more broadly targetted to equity seeking groups including women, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities.
