From: Deanna Coleman Sent: Tuesday, June 13, 2023 10:28 AM To: Info Address info@viewroyal.ca Subject: Rezoning Amendment

Dear Mayor Tobias and Council Members,

I understand that a presentation is being given this evening and a proposal to reduce the notification distance for rezoning and developments is being put forward. I do not feel that accepting this proposal would benefit the residents in View Royal in a positive way. 400m is not a large distance for notification and by reducing this distance to 100m you would further reduce the public engagement and awareness of changes within the community. Large developments change neighbourhoods. We have seen this and continue to see this within our town, especially in our neighbourhood. Excluding these neighbourhoods from proper notification does not create a sense of belonging and community to me as a homeowner, it makes me feel like there are hidden agendas at play and a desire for a lack of transparency. I urge council to not reduce the notification distances for rezoning and developments.

Thank you, Deanna Coleman 136 Conard St
