CHILCO PARK SECURE OFF-LEASH DOG AREA - COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SURVEY

Dear Sir/Madam:

The Town of View Royal is seeking input from the community to determine if there is support for a secure off-leash dog area within Chilco Park. We would like to invite you to provide feedback by participating in the enclosed community engagement survey.

There are two methods available to complete the survey:

1. Complete the enclosed hard copy and return to Town Hall by June 13th, 2021. Town Hall is located at 45 View Royal Avenue, and you can stay contactless by dropping off your survey in the external mail slot at any time of day.
2. Compete the survey online until June 13th at: www.viewroyal.ca - You will see the link to the survey on our Home Page under “What’s New”. Your survey will be submitted to the Town automatically.

CHILCO PARK OFF-LEASH AREA

Developed in 2005, Chilco Park features a fantastic open greenspace, picnic areas, and a large playground for both younger and older children. In recent years, residents in the Chilco area have expressed interest in further developing Chilco Park to include a secure off-leash dog area. Possible benefits include:

• Opportunities for dog-owning neighbours to catch up and meet other community members
• Separation of dogs from other park users
• Space for dogs to be safely socialized
