How do we move forward?
15 Meter work application:
- VR Staff mentioned that they have no issues with the proposed 15 meter work.
- The bank is in need of immediate repair to stabilize the existing slump and stairs within our riparian rights.
- The environmentalist recommends that we remove the Invasive species. There are no native species in the bank. We want to improve the lot…..
- The Archeologist recommends that we prevent the bank from further slump due to the potential of artifacts loss. We do not want any liability related to this.
- The one public complaint not in favor of the application comes from the neighbouring property. The Environmentalist reports it has been heavily modified.
How do we move forward?
Dock Replacement application:
- VR Staff mentioned that they have no issues with the proposed dock design (40 foot).
- The dock design meets the city's recommended guidelines.
- The dock has been given approval from Transport Canada.
- The dock has been given approval from the marine biologist.
- The dock has been given approval from DND environmentalist.
- To our knowledge, there are no public members not in favor of the application.
- We want to take part in a Red Marlin breeding program recommended to us by the environmentalist that will allow bird houses on the dock.

RE: 275 Kerwood Street Marine Structure Municipal Approval
Mr. Kimmett,
This letter provides authorization from the Town of View Royal for the Esquimalt Harbour Management Authority at CFB Esquimalt to proceed with the issuance of a License of Occupation for the existing marine structure at 275 Kerwood Street (001-622-161) as pictured in the enclosed photo and as described in the letter of March 28, 2013 (attached).
Please advise the applicant that they should contact the Town of View Royal with all proposals of future work to ensure that the appropriate process is followed. The structure may be repaired or replaced to its existing size without permit but any expansion of it will require an Environmental Development Permit and consideration in the context of the Town's Private Dock Development Guidelines.

We will entertain an option to reduce the boathouse size if that helps by removing the sides?
