Petition: Atkins Road Sidewalk
Community petition signatures calling for a 1.5m wide sidewalk extension along Atkins Road.
Pedestrians in our area of Atkins Road must side step ditches and risk being hit by vehicles when travelling along the road. Some residents have concerns about accessing or walking on the Galloping Goose Trail. As vehicle and pedestrian traffic continues to increase, the following petition asks Council for roadway safety improvements:
Atkins Road Sidewalk
Our community petitions the Town of View Royal and Council to approve a 1.5m wide sidewalk extension along busy Atkins Road from the existing sidewalk north of Pollock Farm to Traverse Terrace at the Galloping Goose Trail. Providing a safe passageway for residents of all ages and abilities to connect with each other and to area parks, recreation, shops and services is a priority. Lighting, parking and marked crossings near bus stops is important. We ask that improvements be studied and that work be included in the 2021 and future budget and engineering plans.
