3. Council referrals to Strategy process
- Safe routes to school
- Electrification of BC Transit fleet
- Electrification or hybridization of the Town’s fleet
- Municipal natural assets inventory
- Developers provide a greenhouse gas assessment for tree loss
- Adopt higher level Step Codes
- Support the installation of solar photovoltaics on all buildings
- Require that all new buildings be wired for PV and EV chargers
- Incorporate DC fast chargers in any new commercial buildings or rezoning
- Support/incentivize conversions from existing oil and natural gas heating systems to electric heat pumps (along with top-up grant)

4. Next Steps

- Finalize plan for Council consideration and adoption
- Forward to Official Community Plan review team
- Staff and CEA to finalize online community resource guide to educate, assist and encourage residents to reduce their emissions
- Consider update to Corporate Energy and Emissions Plan (2012) and develop an Adaptation Plan in the near future
