Correspondence from John Rogers Re: Polly Place road end capital project

Please add to November 2nd Committee of the Whole as “business arising” under evening Parks agenda

Please support stopping any further work on Polly Place road end capital project. Please reconsider this as a redundant and unnecessary expense. The neighbours petitioned years ago against it. They now have a much “road end” just 250m away (Crane Place). Most are already water front. They do not need / want this one.

Polly Place is NOT a typical "road end" like Stewart, Heddle, Beaumont etc

Crane Place road end is just 250 away. Unlike Crane Place, this location is sloped and not easily accessible.
It is between two established driveways with feeling of public intrusion
Centennial park playground and water views just 180m away
Most of the homes already have beach / water views already -- do not need it
CEPTED needs to be applied to ensure it does not become a youth hang out
$30k can be better used elsewhere like St Giles Road safety improvements
4-5 years ago, the town tried, then STOPPED creating this "road end access" due to neighbourhood petition against it. We invested in Crane Place instead.
View Royal residents already have FIVE water access points within 250m radius
The natural beach is best left as is, as part of the bird santuary
