Polly Place - View Royal

Mayor and Council,

I see that Councillor Rogers has asked that Polly Place Road End Project be on Tuesday's Committee of the Whole Agenda. We strongly oppose this and will be speaking to the matter under Public Participation. Councillor Rogers has listed excellent points why this does not make sense... either fiscally, or socially. Only Councillor Rogers and Mattson have any recollection that this matter had been tried before in 2015! At that time the town had surveyed the neighbourhood. The response is attached. 85% said no (please read the attachment letters and results) The project was stopped! Why didn't the town first survey the community again before wasting $30k? As Councillor Rogers noted since that time the town has opened Crane Place, which has a much better walkable access that does not conflict with driveways! Mission accomplished.

Please come and see for yourself before Tuesdays meeting!! It is important that you do. You are welcome to call us for any questions as well. Chad's number is and Erica's is .

We do not think this was ever really meant as a "road end" like Stewart Road, Chancellor Ave or Shoreline Drive. Back years ago in the 1990s, when lots were divided and a common driveway was created between houses, the space was named as a road. Polly Place was the name here. Another example is Dragon Lane off Prince Robert Drive.

Please stop this unproductive, unnecessary capital project. Do not make Polly Place a road end. The potential liability of people walking down a sloped and active driveway is an issue for us and the town.

Thank you.
