I would like to share my views regarding changes to Polly Place. More traffic on Kingham place is undesirable. People walking and car parking are stretched to the limit of safety.

Polly Place is a View Royal right of way BUT not a “Beach Access” as the natural stable bank is about six feet high, dropping down to a quick, muddy, tidal bottom which is unsuitable for canoe or kayak launching and certainly not for wading. Polly Place is the access way to both #66 and #137 Kingham Place and is kept neat and tidy by those residents.

Transients are known to be moving into public areas in View Royal. Signage declares public land which encourages loitering of a sort we do not want. We have a lot of young children in our neighborhood (approximately 25) to think of. Polly Place is out of sight and invites trouble; we have had past experience in the late 1960s with unsavoury groups.

Most non waterfront homes on Kingham have water views. We are fortunate to have two lovely park areas close by, which provide excellent recreational space but already impact traffic increasing parking on the street and hazards for walkers. Both residents and the public gain little from this proposal and gain everything by its denial.

View Royal is lovely. Thank you and your staff for taking such care of us.
