Public Space Survey Response - Libby Milan

November 8, 2022Page 3611 section

Survey response from Libby Milan expressing concern about attraction of crime and noise.

7.a-f CORRESPONDENCE (Re: Advisory Committees and Vehicle Replacement Policy)
77 Kingham Place

Name (optional): LIBBY MILAN

Address: 77 KINGHAM PLACE

  1. Generally speaking, are you in favour of marking/delineating public spaces to make residents aware of water access locations (circle appropriate response) with the Town of View Royal?

Yes / No (circled)

COMMENTS: There are already plenty of water access points in View Royal. In the Kingham Place/Portage Inlet - most of the time in Summer there is no water at low tide. There are no beaches. It is very silty/slimy MUD !!

  1. Are you in favour of marking/delineating water access to Polly Place:

Yes / No (circled)

COMMENTS: I would be very concerned that a beach and signage would attract crime to this area. The two houses beside this access- One's an elderly couple & the other a family with young children. It would be shameful if they were not able to enjoy their own properties. Also $ would have to be spent to make a pathway to the mud beach. I think money could be spent better elsewhere... i.e. sidewalk along the hall mark on Kingham.
