Christmas lights were a major focus in December. While it takes a huge amount of time and specialized equipment to get the trees decorated at Centennial Park, the prominent display is always appreciated by many people.

Annual drainage and headwall inspections were conducted using ArcGIS collector and Town-owned tablet. This approach will reduce the use of paper; in addition, data re-entry will be more efficient for regularly scheduled maintenance and inspections, allowing staff to track and view what maintenance has occurred in real-time. Ideally, similar applications can be created and used for all maintenance conducted both by Town staff and contractors.

GIS has been working on asset management to improve the data within internal databases, starting with sewer and drainage networks, to better manage Town-owned assets.

RECOMMENDATION:

THAT the report dated January 5, 2022 from the Chief Administrative Officer titled “CAO Update” be received for information.
