To bring forward a revamped bylaw that regulates the Town’s Protected Trees

Background

Incorporated changes discussed in May, 2021:

  • Amended list of protected trees
  • Removal of significant trees
  • Amended pruning regulations - 10cm by certified arborist
  • Amended emergency removal period - 24 hrs
  • Amended watercourse - 30m
  • Amended penalties – fines up to $50,000
  • Reduced maintenance Period - 1 Year
  • Removal of building envelope exemption
  • Add priority processing and re-visit fees ($100)
  • Increase cash-in-lieu to $500
