Portage Inlet Park Outfall

  • Arborist report completed and shared with Town of View Royal
  • 3 of 4 trees can be retained
  • Tree NT4 is the most at risk and will be replaced 3:1 if needed
  • Work will follow arborist’s recommendations
  • Work not anticipated in 2025

Traffic Management

  • Speed: 60 km / hr during active work / 80 km / hr during periods of inactivity
  • No closures or stoppages on Sundays or long weekends (Friday noon to Tuesday noon)
  • No lane closures or stoppages from 5:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. GGT closures from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Burnside Road On-Ramp closures from 8:00 p.m. to 05:30 a.m.
  • Helmcken lane closures from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Night Work

  • Generally, work will be completed during the day with a few exceptions:
    • Work to implementation of lane shifts on Highway 1
    • Blasting on north side of Highway 1 between Helmcken and McKenzie
    • Girder erection at GGT bridge
    • Paving works including final overlay
