Thanks - I wanted to clarify that the white "box" creates a break in traffic waiting for the red light, that is encouraging people to turn left across 2-3 lanes of traffic where they can't properly see, due to the hill or people turning the corner. I almost hit someone yesterday. It's not a rare thing.

Hello team,

Likely this is all over my head, but since the pub is about to go under, it seems as good a time as any to address what I've been told is a long standing back room agreement with the pub on the giant "do not block" road paint out front of the exit into Six Mile Rd.

Currently, the painted marks to not block the intersection are encouraging drivers to cross the double solid line up six mile road, as they enter and exit the pub parking lot or shell station. I've almost hit people who are coming out of the shell station, crossing the uphill lane (almost hit them here, too), two lanes of stopped traffic for the light, to get into the 4th lane to head up into Colwood, where cars coming downhill are moving faster / have an empty turn lane and aren't expecting someone to make such a dumb exit. I see it weekly.

Might we remove that paint, and put up a couple "No Left Turn" signs on each side to put an end to this?

Might be time!

Otherwise, to the engineering department, the roundabout is working beautifully. And it was built in a really non-disruptive way. Good work.

Enjoy the week

Rob Black
