Youth Drop-In

The Shore is the ultimate haven for youth 11-18 in the Westshore. This vibrant hub is not just a place; it is a community within a community where awesome young minds will find a safe place to kick back, hang out and just be themselves.

Youth drop-in programs are packed with games, activities, sports, swimming and/or skating, and are hosted by youth staff.

Youth drop-in programs are packed with games, activities, sports, swimming and/or skating, and are hosted by youth staff.

Summer at The Shore:

Friday night youth swim: Fridays, 6:30-8:00PM Drop-in basketball: Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays, 4:30-7:00PM

The Shore in September:

Come September, activities ramp up and youth will again find their place at The Shore at JDF on Fridays. WSPR is proud to partner with Game Ready to have their coaches and mentors on site for select drop in events to help engage youth in games, conversation and opportunities to gain confidence playing a variety of sports.

On Fridays starting September 13th, youth will have access to the pool from 6:30-8PM, the ISC for sports and the new climbing wall from 6:30-9PM, and The Shore youth room for games and pizza from 7:30-9PM.

Once a month, youth can expend some extra energy in the new bouncy run course! Save the dates! September 13, October 25, November 29 & December 20.

Youth nights are supervised by three WSPR youth staff and two WSPR security advocates to ensure everyone feels safe and participants abide by the safe spaces policy. Reminder that all participants must sign in to receive an admission bracelet, agree to random bag checks and be picked up no later than 9:30PM.

Thursday Nights at CC: Drop-in Youth Art and Dance:

The Shore, JDF's youth drop-in space, has expanded to Centennial Centre! Art, dance, movement, games, snacks and hangouts are await the creative youth of the Westshore. Hosted by youth staff, The Shore is a safe haven for youth to come and just be themselves. Grade 6+.

Game of the Week

Enjoy gaming? Come Drop-in at The Shore on Tuesday evenings for our Game of the Week! Focusing on strategy and action games, there’s a game for everyone! Youth are welcome to bring their own controllers or mobile devices depending on the game. Snacks provided!

$2 Drop-in Basketball*

Spruce Room (Centennial Centre - 2805 Carlow Rd.) Do you love to paint, sculpt, print, sew, or draw? Then join us in the art studio for our new Thursday night youth drop in where a variety of art materials will be provided for an evening of creative art making.

Dance & Movement Drop-In

Oak Room (Centennial Centre - 2805 Carlow Rd.) Join our dance instructor on Thursdays to learn some new moves, participate in movement games and listen to some great tunes! Not ready to dance yet? We will have bracelet making available as well.

Lego Group: A Safe Haven for 2SLGBTQI+ Youth

LEGO Group is a flexible, confidential space for youth exploring their identities to relax, make friends, enjoy snacks, and play games. Come build connections with us at LEGO Group! Facilitated by a Youth and Family Counsellor from Pacific Centre Family Services Association.
