Overall Themes
- Positive response to the accessible playground concept. Envisioned the park as a space for all ages and accessibility levels.
- Top Three Playground features: climbing structures, in-ground trampolines, swings
- Top three preferred features: park furniture (e.g. chairs, benches, picnic tables), grassy open spaces and shaded areas
- Proximity to Galloping Goose can be a safety hazard. Some respondents suggested a fence separating the park users from the cyclists.
- Some expressed a desire for an off-leash dog area. Others strongly opposed the park becoming an off-leash dog park and pushed for signage to indicate the dogs must remain on-leash.
- Do not want to reduce the amount of greenspace.
- Concerns about noise, and fear that the park would be used for unwanted activities
- Several park users indicated a desire to see public washrooms and additional lighting at the park. Yet many others thought that public washrooms may bring about more unwanted activities and would require monitoring and/or set hours
- A formal path connecting Cheltenham Street to the park
- Top Three ways to keep people informed: Social media, signage in the park, Town’s website
