Petition for Kids playground on Nursery Hill Drive
Background:
Thank you Town of View Royal for giving us a chance to present our petition.
Request for Kids playground : This is the 3rd time request for Kids playground came up for council hearing. First time it came up in October 2021, second time it came up on Jan 17th 2023, and came back for 3rd time on Jan 16th 2024(now).
Background
- Nursery Hill Drive area consist of 8xCondo building and 23 homes
- Approx. population on Nursery Hill drive and surroundings is 700-800 peoples.
- There is shopping complex in this beautiful neighborhood.
- No playground for kids in this side of six mile road.
- It has Gary Oak Meadow Park and Nursery Hill Parks, which are very well utilized by residents.
- Presently this particular area is not fully utilized for residents need.
Continued:
- There is no playground on this side(east side) of six mile road for children.
- This issue has been brought to Council Town of View Royal on several occasions in last 8 years.
- Staff has also visited few times to study and reports were given to council.
- Petition has been signed by more than 70xresidents from this area with the request to go for kids playground.
- Town’s advisory committees, PREAC and CDAC has endorsed this request and referred this request to council for initiating the plan.

Area for children Playground

- Refer to Town’s recent letter dated Nov 27th 2023, amending secondary suite permit, allowing more and more peoples to come and live in Town of View Royal.
- People will get attracted to live in View Royal when children has safe place to play.
- Socialization place in our neighborhood and enjoy your time in open space.
- Safe place to live with. adequate measure in place, there are speed bumps on Nursery Hill drive and sign of slow driving children in play in this neighborhood.
- Council already had report from staff .
- Some of councilors has visited and see this area in person.
- Now this area is fully populated with no other space for kids to play.
- Residents of this area need a kids playground for safety and prosperity of area and neighborhood.
