Resident email urging Council members to visit Erskine Lane to understand the traffic access and egress issues.

2 APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Date: September 13, 2023Address: #75 Erskine LaneConcern: Future population on Erskine will be nearly 10% of View Royal

Subject: Watkiss Way and Erskine Lane

I raised the issue of access and egress for the 68 Units at #14 Erskine Lane during the debate on the huge number of proposals unit-wise for Erskine Kane. Your traffic people ensured the proposed and approved “traffic circle” would suffice. Residents at #14 that I’ve talked with are very concerned about the traffic issues on our little dead end lane. If West Urban opens up this issue again — please consider that traffic to and from Erskine lane..where nearly 10% of View Royal’s population will be once the other properties are developed, will be greater than Watkiss Way West of Erskine Lane.

I also urge ALL members of Council to at least visit Erskine Lane personally and look for yourselves. Imagine turning on to Erskine Lane along with hundreds of other vehicles plus kids walking to our Elementary School.

Public Open House

September 21, 2023 @ 5:30pm – 7:00pm (drop-in format)
Location: 9 Erskine Lane (meeting to be held outdoors on the corner of Watkiss Way and Erskine Lane)

You are receiving this notice because you live at or own a property within 400m of 9 Erskine Lane. WestUrban Developments is hosting a public open house on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 5:30pm-7:00pm (drop in format) to review and discuss changes to the intersection of Watkiss Way and Erskine Lane.

WestUrban is required to build a roundabout at the intersection of Watkiss Way and Erskine Lane. During the detailed design process, it became evident the size of the roundabout would impact the neighbouring properties and result in the loss of existing trees, vegetation and privacy hedges. As a result, WestUrban proposes to construct a signalized intersection at Watkiss Way and Erskine Lane as an alternative.

To do so, WestUrban requires approval from the Town of View Royal Council. The purpose of this open house is to address any questions or concerns residents have before this proposal proceeds to Council for consideration later this Fall.
