Please accept this letter as a response to the above noted letter. You have requested a letter detailing my exact concerns about my parking concerns and practical solutions to those concerns.

| 1. Secondary Suites, the Town of View Royal has implemented a strategy to address parking requirements to address the problems related to the potential for congestion related to Secondary Suites. As indicated in your handout “A Guide to Secondary Suites" | Enforce the Town by-laws and ensure that individuals with secondary suites follow the rules. It is unfair to people who follow the by-laws to have to accommodate those that do not. |
| 2. There are no sidewalks on either side of the road to allow for the safe passage of pedestrians and cyclists. | Sidewalks and bicycle lanes would be the most practical. If this is an economical barrier, allowing the pedestrians or cyclists the ability to travel on the edge of the road by making it a no parking on both sides of the road. |
| 3. As this section of the road is frequently travelled by individuals using the Park and Ride, volume and speed of traffic is of concern. | Create a new entrance and exit off Helmcken Road. Reduce traffic speed by adding speed bumps. |
| 4. The parking on St. Giles Street is for Residence only. My house is the only home that faces St. Giles Street, I do not need extra parking for myself, my guests or my tenants. | Remove the resident only parking and make the entire street no parking. This will curb the temptation for anyone to park on this part of the street. |
| 5. Infrequent enforcement of parking bylaws cause motorists to ignore the parking signs and/or park in restricted areas (in front of hydrants). | Have regular monitoring of the area, ticket and tow vehicles on a more frequent basis. |
I am aware that my concerns and proposed solutions may not be economically feasible at this time, however the simple changing of “resident only” parking to “No Parking” would alleviate many of my concerns at this time.
