Dear Friends

It's with the deepest gratitude that I'm writing to report on how you've been making a difference!

Because of cancer research that's getting done thanks to your dedicated help, you've given the gift of life to people who, only a few years ago, would not have survived a cancer diagnosis.

Your generosity has been funding researchers who are world-renowned for the wide-reaching impact of their work. And also for its cost-effectiveness! Canadian Cancer Society researchers get the most out of every dollar we can raise. And they're saving lives! Thanks to you!

Matching your generosity and farsightedness with their inspired enthusiasm makes a great combination!

Not only are you getting new research into the labs. You're also making sure our scientists can follow up on breakthroughs from their previous, innovative research. So no research efforts are wasted.

But every year, hundreds of critical cancer research projects sit on shelves because there isn't enough money to get that research done. Imagine how many lives could be saved if only that research had been funded.

Thanks to people like you, who care, the researchers we've been able to fund are making great progress. Some have even managed to find cures for some cancers — like retinoblastoma, a childhood cancer of the eyes. Now curable!

That's a huge accomplishment, not only for the children saved today, but also for future generations.

And it proves that cures are possible! With you on the team, we can find more.

Our researchers have also discovered new ways to screen, diagnose and treat many cancers so they can be managed. Cancers that used to take lives are now being held off.

We’ve asked our researchers to find the best ways to avoid and prevent cancer.

What they're discovering gives our volunteers the information they need to champion their tireless and passionate advocacy to every level of government. The result is effective public policy. Your gift is saving lives right now and will be saving future generations too.

Quality of life is a cornerstone of the Canadian Cancer Society's mission. Your gift has been funding research that guides governments, communities and organizations to put resources where they're needed most.

For instance, what about later-life health problems from aggressive childhood cancer treatments? A child's life is saved but we want to make sure that child's future is healthy too.

Canadian Cancer Society researchers are following up with children and their families to solve these kinds of questions — thanks to you.

Quality of life includes the practical help delivered by the Canadian Cancer Society's wonderful volunteers. They've made the cancer journey easier and improved outcomes for thousands of people. Your gift is keeping that desperately-needed support available.

The costs around cancer treatments would devastate many patients and their families - if it wasn't for your thoughtfulness.

You’ve been helping to make sure people can stay at our safe, affordable and very comforting Lodges. You're providing transportation, free wigs and prostheses, immediate, trusted information, help finding resources, and even a buddy who's survived the same type of cancer.

I always cheer for our beloved Camp Goodtimes for families who are fighting for their child's life. When children spend a summer week at Camp Goodtimes, they come home inspired!

Their friends from Camp are with them throughout the year to make sure they'll be at Camp again next year! That joy could not happen without your kindness.

Thank you for bringing so much hope and help to everyone facing this terrifying disease.

You're in our hearts.
