DEVELOPMENT COST CHARGES BYLAW NO. 1011, 2019

RECOMMENDATION:

THAT the March 14, 2019 report from the Director of Engineering titled “Development Cost Charges Bylaw No. 1011, 2019” be received.

PURPOSE OF REPORT:

As part of the Strategic Plan, staff were to review Development Cost Charges Bylaw No. 427 and amend as required.

BACKGROUND:

The current Development Cost Charges Bylaw was adopted in 2001. Once the proposed bylaw (see attachment) has received three readings from Council, it will be forwarded to the Inspector of Municipalities for review and approval. Once approved by the Inspector, the proposed Bylaw will be brought back to Council for consideration of adoption.

PROJECT INFORMATION:

Leftside Partners, project consultants, presented to the November 13, 2019 Committee of the Whole meeting with an explanation of the revised rates and projects of the proposed DCC bylaw for consideration.

An open house for the community and developers was held on December 18, 2018. Staff received no concerns regarding the intended DCC rates.

BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:

There are no impacts to budgets.
