Dear Mayor and Council of View Royal,
I am a resident of View Royal, address 15 Helmcken Road Unit 5. I write about the Eagles Nest development at the corner of Helmcken and Burnside Road W by Invictus.
I live next to the proposed development site with my husband and 6 month old son. I am not against development of the site, however, the density and scale of the project concerns me. Without infrastructure changes on Helmcken and Burnside, there is no way to accommodate such a large density project. My family moved into View Royal 3 years ago and I like the community and character. I hope that as the gateway to the View Royal community, something is developed that represents the qualities View Royal stands for. As I understand it, the developer is hoping for maximum possible density, however, that would be a mistake. There has been an enormous amount of apartment buildings build in the area over the past few years (Eagle Creek condos for example). View Royal should consider the overall experience of residents and have a variety of housing options. I worry that in a few years, we will be surrounded by highrise condo buildings.
Thank you for your consideration,
Nicole Formosa 15 Helmcken Road Unit 5, V8Z7Z7, View Royal
