Correspondence from David Zunker re: Proposed Development - 298 Island Highway

November 2, 2021Page 2011 section

An email from a resident expressing concern regarding reduced parking availability and requesting low-income housing quotas.

1 CALL TO ORDER
Date: October 29, 2021Concerned about parking congestion on public roadways like Eltham Road and Jedburg Rd

From: David Zunker Sent: October 29, 2021 2:14 PM To: Info Address info@viewroyal.ca Subject: 298 Island Hwy lot 1 sec 8 plan 35505

I am a View Royal resident and live adjacent to the proposed apartment building, at 290 Island Hwy.

I am concerned about the proposed reduction in parking availability in the proposed apartment building. This area is already difficult to park in. I have one spot at Lion's Cove building and must already park on the public roadway. The public roads nearby do not allow for parking by not having consistent curbs, sidewalks, or parking. Eltham only has sidewalk and curb parking on one side. Jedburg Rd does not allow parking, Rudyard does not have sidewalks, curbs, or parking in front of private residences, Stormont does not have sidewalks or curbs for public parking.

I would hope View Royal would require a percentage of housing for low income and disabled in any new apartment building such as this.

Thank You, David Zunker and in agreement with my spouse, Dallas Mangnell
