Hello,

I am a local resident and have a concern regarding the proposed variances at 298 island highway. While I support the suggestion of a first floor grocery store, I believe the parking is going to be a disaster on Eltham Road. With the proposed variances to reduce the number of regular sized parking spots, visitor traffic from larger vehicles can be expected to clog up Eltham Road which is already very often clogged even before any development is put in. This is largely due to having only a single small strip of road adjacent to the new 55 unit complex but also the existing townhouse and apartment complexes in the area which regularly rely on Eltham road for visitor parking.

I suggest that a version of the plan be approved that has higher than normal, not lower than normal, levels of parking.
