Re: Hospice Development Watkiss Way at Hospital Way

This letter is in regards to the development of a new Hospice facility to be located adjacent to the Victoria General Hospital. I understand that applications are underway for the development, therefor; the Town of View Royal wishes to engage you in the request of a boundary adjustment as a matter of public interest.

Generally speaking, the Town of View Royal provides many municipal services to this area, such as maintaining infrastructure on Watkiss Way, Hospital Way and providing services to the Victoria General Hospital.

Based on the current government jurisdiction, services to the Hospice would involve Saanich service providers, including Fire and Police, travelling through View Royal to address issues at this location.

I believe it is most logical that the boundary between the District of Saanich and the Town of View Royal be adjusted in order to maintain a consistent and high quality level of service to this neighborhood.

I ask that you please consider a boundary adjustment to enable all properties fronting Watkiss Way to be included within the Town of View Royal.

I look forward to hearing from you on this issue.

Sincerely,

David Screech Mayor
