8.1 STAFF REPORTS
a) Development Permit Application No. 2014/01 – 235 Island Highway
- Report dated February 28, 2014 from the Senior Planner
The Senior Planner gave a summary of the report to Council.
Council and staff discussed the design of the buildings vis a vis the amendment application. It was noted that it appears that some of the fenestration shown in the drawings for Block B – east are missing from the constructed building. Council requested that staff follow-up on this.

C-25-14 THAT Development Permit No. 2014/01 to amend Development Permit No. 2011/12 as per the plans attached to the report from the Senior Planner titled "Development Permit Application No. 2014/01 – 235 Island Highway" and dated February 28, 2014 be approved;
AND THAT Development Permit No. 2014/01 include the following conditions: a. That planters and soft landscaping for Blocks A and B as per the Development Permit No. 2011/12 be retained. b. The walkways between the sidewalk on Island Highway and the front doors of units in Blocks A and B be hard surfaced. CARRIED

11. NEW BUSINESS
12. QUESTION PERIOD
a) A. Richardson and A. Treanor, 328 Glenairlie Drive, questioned whether boulevard parking is allowed on Glenairlie Drive and noted that they have made changes several times to how they park to try to improve the situation. They indicated that the complaints seem to be spearheaded by one resident.
The Chief Administrative Officer noted that there have been issues in regard to parking on Glenairlie Drive and that last week seventeen warning tickets were issued in response to a complaint regarding parking on Glenairlie Drive. Council have requested that staff review the boulevard parking prohibition in the Town’s Streets and Traffic Bylaw.

C-28-14 THAT staff not enforce parking on boulevards unless vehicles are not licensed or safety issues are involved until such time as a staff report is considered by Council regarding options and amendments to the Town's Streets and Traffic Bylaw. CARRIED
b) S. Dana, 311 Stewart Avenue, questioned encroachments on public property, such as boulevards, that pose a safety risk.

THAT there is a need to have a meeting closed to the public and persons other than the immediate members of Council, officers and employees of the Town, and those identified under Section 91 (2) of the Community Charter shall be excluded on the basis of Section 90 (1)(g) and Section 90 (2)(b) of the Community Charter. CARRIED
